Visit the Iniskea Islands for their rich, amazing scenery and rare wildlife, making them both archaeologically and ecologically sensitive. Barnacle geese winter there. The low-lying coasts are also home to a large number of grey seals.
The Céide Fields are the oldest known field systems in the world, over five and a half millennia old. The remains of stone field walls, houses and megalithic tombs are preserved beneath a blanket of peat over several square miles. The visitor’s centre allows you to experience the prehistoric landscape, a natural wild ecology of blanket bog and dramatic cliffs.
