The European Golf Club is situated on beautiful Brittas Bay about 35 miles south of Dublin and 5 miles south of Wicklow town.

Located on the Eastern coastline of Ireland, The European Golf Club, has magnificent views of the Irish Sea. The Pat Ruddy designed links course aimed to modernise the traditional values of links golf and this has been achieved with magnificent results.

The result is a combination of rugged dunes, deep bunkers, sea breezes and large undulating greens, which calls on the golfer to display strength of character, an ability to think and shot making skills.

The course includes five holes running very close to the sea. So close that it is common to find players searching for their golf balls on the beach.

Highlights

Two extra par-3s mean golfers can often play a 20-hole round.

Facilities

The shop sells books about golf by Pat Ruddy, as well as logoed clothing and golf equipment.

Things to do

The European Club is situated 60 minutes south of Dublin near Co. Wicklow and just off the main motorway connecting Dublin to Waterford. Just 30 kilometres away lies Glendalough Abbey, a popular attraction that was established in the 6th century by Saint Kevin and remained intact until the 16th century. The site consists of a well-preserved round tower, a few stone churches, and several crosses. It is located close to Bray and the entrance to Glendalough Valley.
